This project consisted of;
- Stripping the plaster.
- Abrasive cleaning to remove all cement residue.
- Rake out of the old lime mortar joints.
- Rebuilding of brick reveals.
- Repointed with traditional NHL 3.5 lime mortar.

We were brought in to rebuild this pillar that had loose and missing stones also it had ivy growing through joints compromising the integrity of the pillar. So to prevent a potential accident from occurring, we completely stiped the pillar, removed the old mortar and rebuilt the pillar using traditional lime mortar (NHL 3.5).

This restoration project entailed a vast amount of repointing and rebuilding. seen in the first two pictures is a before and after of a brick section that was ruined by the cement plaster that trapped moisture, causing the brick to decay and blow the brick faces. The client requested that we replace this section with reclaimed stone, which is evident in the second image.
The, house you see here was once plastered in sand and cement, causing trapped moisture, damp on the inside of the building and the decay of brick and some stone. The plaster was stripped, the house was abrasively cleaned, raked out to removed the old lime mortar joint and repointed in a traditional lime mortar with a tapped finnish.
All building and repointing was completed using NHL 3.5

Here we completed a small brick slip project, this offers an aesthetic appearance and protection for the timber wall from the heat of the stove. The stove and the single walled flue up to the 45 degree bend were to close to the combustible timber. The output of heat is too much for how close they were to the timber. The quickest, simplest and most aesthetically appealing, was to create a fire place essentially, all materials used are non combustible, meaning the excess heat will not affect them causing a fire.
